Our human body is so complicated and wonderfully made by the Lord. We are proud of it but forget to thank God for his wonderful blessings by which we are enjoying this world.
Our eyes are so amazing organ that helps us to see the beautiful creation of God. We walk, move, and do all the work with the help of our eyes. But this organ can cause trouble in our lives if we do not use it the way we should use it.
We need to guard our eyes so they may not lead us far from the Lord. When we look at something and begin to think in our hearts it makes us commit sin thus it makes us sinners in the eyes of God.
Now we will learn how and why should we guard our eyes to save our lives from the wrath of God with the help of these following bible verses.
Job 31:1(KJV) “I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?”
We see the things around us with our eyes and it makes our hearts wicked when we look at them with fleshly desires. We need to stop seeing something in a wicked way. Our eyes should be used for the glory of God.
Psalm 119:37(KJV) “Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.”
Eyes help us to enjoy the things that God has made for us. We will feel bored if we lose sight. So we have to thank God on a regular basis for his special blessing by which we can see everything.
Matthew 6:22-23(KJV) “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!”
If we do not use our eyes for good work then we have to suffer for it. Instead of losing our souls we must repent and stop watching what God hates.
Galatians 5:24(KJV) “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
We the Christians are following Jesus and we have to remember that Christ had left an example of the holy life for us. We need to learn from him and have to live the way he desired us to live.
1 Corinthians 9:27(KJV) “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
We the believers must know how to control all our body parts. They have tremendous power to send us hell. Thus our eyes play a vital role and they must be utilized wisely to avoid eternal death.
Philippians 4:8(KJV) “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
We are the light of this world. We must live a life that pleases God. Here, we have to know how to rule our body organs so they may not lead us towards death.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20(KJV) “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
It is our duty to guard our eyes otherwise we will fall into Satan’s trap. Jesus says to be careful as the days are worst and we must spend our days wisely. When we control our body and sacrifice its desires we become stronger in our spirituality.
Matthew 5:28(KJV) “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
When a person looks at a woman with lust, he commits sin. So how dangerous are our eyes if we use them for our flesh? So let us use it for the things which will not make us sinners.
Proverbs 4:25(KJV) “Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.”
We should see everything positively. God is looking at us and he will show us on judgment day what we are doing with our eyes.
Isaiah 33:15(KJV) “He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;”
When we forsake God and walk with the wicked we lose all that God says to do. But God wants us to stop watching the evil and he wants us to follow in his footsteps that lead us towards life.
Matthew 5:29(KJV) “And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”
In our lives, we get many things but we need to be wise, because sometimes we may commit sin with these things. Here it means we should give up something when we find it leading us toward sin.
Psalm 101:3(KJV) “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”
God knows all our desires and we must cleanse them. With a pure heart, we can see the world and it will lead us to have the life which we should get.
Proverbs 20:12(KJV) “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them.”
Our eyes are a gift from the Lord. We need to know how to use them in order to find the life that is found in Jesus alone. We see so many things and most of them are unnecessary, but we have to see what God has given us for our salvation.
Proverbs 21:4(KJV) “An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.”
We have to look the way Jesus looked at the world. The way he loved people by his death so we are to do the same. Our eyes must be removed from all kinds of wickedness.
1 Corinthians 12:21(KJV) “And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.”
All the organs that God has given to us are important. And we are happy that we are enjoying our life with their help. If we lose our sight then we will really miss the beauty of this world and always we will desire to leave the earth.
1 John 2:16(KJV) “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
There is nothing good in this world. We are moved by the things that we see and our eyes are leading us toward them. But if think deeply then we will really find the truth. So we need to view the world the way God sees it.
Psalm 32:8(KJV) “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
We should thank God for all of his blessings. Our life is useless and we cannot do anything without his help. So we should be humble and praise him for the wonderful works that he has done for us.
