We are new creatures in Christ, living lives that bring glory to God. Therefore, we cannot act in the same manner as those who have not yet accepted Jesus. To inspire others to follow Jesus, we ought to live holy lives.
In order to resist temptation, we must learn to regulate our emotions and anger as faithful followers of Jesus. We must understand who we are as the chosen people and live our lives in accordance with what has been demanded of us.
When we can regulate our emotions, including our anger, we gain a more mature perspective of the world and are better able to make wise decisions for the future.
