Throughout the Old Testament, we have seen how God called his people from their families to do some special works. Among them, the call of Abraham is remarkable when God asked him to leave his family and relatives and Abraham did so.
When God calls us for a special purpose we must respond to him. But this does not mean that we should leave our family putting other members in danger. If the Lord calls us, he also makes some ways that other family members do not face trouble.
We can see in the New Testament, when Jesus was leaving his family he asked John to take care of his mother. From this incident, we can learn that we can not just leave home giving an excuse for the sake of God.
The calling of God must be answered in a positive way and we are to go wherever he will take us. When the Lord will call us for his work he will also make everything all right.
We should not fear for the future because the Lord is in control of everything. Here are some Bible verses that will help us to understand the significance of leaving the family for God.
