This world is unknown to us and we do not know what to do and how to live to avoid and overcome all unusual circumstances. We may claim that we are wise and can solve all our problems with our human efforts. Yet it is a foolish thing to live a life without the guidance of our creator.
Every moment we must seek God’s presence in our lives to have the strength to overcome the wicked scheme of the Devil. We need to begin any programs such as bible study, meetings, and so on with the opening prayer where we invite the Lord to guide and direct us according to his wisdom.
The little opening prayer does not waste our time but it makes us receive the divine presence of the Lord and we can get the right thoughts and ideas by which we walk smoothly even when our situation does not seems perfect.
Let us read the following bible verses which will help us to begin service with prayer.
1 John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.”
We have the faith that God listens to our prayers when we seek anything from him in accordance with his will. He has promised us to provide for all our needs if we seek his kingdom and righteousness.
1 Chronicles 16:11 “Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.”
We all are aware of the fact of sin has separated us from the Lord. But we have a hope to meet him again through the blood of Jesus. We must seek the Lord and follow him to reach our final destination.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
The Lord loves his people so much that he is always ready to forgive their sins. They need to humble themselves and leave their sinful ways to make the Lord happy and they will be blessed as a result of their repentance.
Jeremiah 29:12 “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.”
We have a great privilege that the Lord wants to listen to our prayer. He is good and asks us to call him in our troubles and temptations so he can deliver us from our troubles.
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
We are very weak in our strength and ability. We cannot solve all our life issues but we have good news that the Lord is with us and he is able to reduce all the burdens that seem so heavy to us.
Psalm 18:6 “In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.”
God knows all our needs but he wants us to pray with a repented heart. When we pray with tears and seek his support, he amazingly starts to work in our lives, and then we can experience the miraculous work of the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Jesus wants us to pray continuously and he also left an example in his own life. He also used to pray till midnight and we are to follow him in order to overcome the plans of the devil. Apart from this, we must thank God for his blessings and support which gives us the joy of life.
Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
There is nothing to fear as we have received Jesus because he has bought us by his blood. We are to fear him alone. He is able to restore us and strengthen us in times of trouble and temptations.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
God’s peace will be with us when we decide to live for God. He has called us to live a holy and righteous life that is acceptable to the Lord. And we need to live continuously with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving.
Matthew 6:31-34 “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
By accepting Jesus, we have become the children of God and now we can access all the promises of our heavenly Father. We should not think of our lives but we need to trust him with all of our hearts and he will provide us all that we need.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
There will always be dangers and troubles if we leave God and walk with our own knowledge. We will surely lose everything but trusting God and leaving all our desires upon him will help us to find the plans successful at the end of our life.
Isaiah 41:13 “For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
God’s mighty hand is always with his children and he will never leave them in their distress. Through faith, we can receive his blessings and by living a righteous life we are to enjoy our life here on this earth.
Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
The good news is that in heaven there will be no more sorrow, pain, and suffering. What we are going through here will be no more in our final place. What an amazing place it would be. So let us focus on that and work hard to achieve our goal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
Our aim is to reach heaven by forsaking the desires of our flesh. We may find it hard but it will come to an end very soon. We should expect the hope that God has set before us and look forward to our eternal home we must endure all kinds of trials.
Psalm 27:12 “Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.”
If we walk with the Lord then he will make our enemies our friends. So our intentions should be to please God by following all of the guidelines that he has given us for our upliftment.
Romans 8:31 ‘What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
Christ has made the way for us and we should not fear anyone in this world. Satan can use people to threaten us but we can defeat him by the power of God. We are now the children of the most high God and have the freedom to live with heads high.
1 Peter 5:7 ‘Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Why should we worry in our lives when God has promised us to be with us. It would be an act of stupidity if we depend on our own strength and refuse the promises of God.
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Christ is all in all in our lives. He can protect us from all the evils on this earth even though he is the king of God’s kingdom where he will lead us to heaven. So we can boldly confess that we can do all things through him as he is the source of our spiritual strength.
1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
We need to give our time for the extension of God’s kingdom. Though we have our own jobs yet, we must work for the Lord as he will be rewarded us if we faithfully do something for his kingdom.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.”
Being a follower of Jesus Christ we need to stand firm in the faith. Our aim should be to enter heaven at any cost by forsaking worldly things. We all will be rewarded if we stick to the Lord by obeying all of His commandments.
Psalm 34:8 “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
A man would be successful and blessed if he put his faith in the Lord and walk in the ways of God. This world does not give us anything good rather it would lead us far from the presence of God through its various things.
