When the Lord created Adam and Eve, they were sinless and hence flawless. However, they were rendered flawed the instant sin entered them. Since then, man has fallen from his lofty position.
Even if we may display our wisdom here on earth, we are still cut off from the Lord. There are a lot of things we may do to surprise ourselves. We still have shortcomings. We are not blameless in God’s eyes.
Many people who had lived their lives in partnership with God are depicted in the Bible, and we see that they too were flawed. These men of God walked with the Lord, but they also fell short on occasion. Let’s look at some of the great men of God who disobeyed God’s commands in their daily lives.
- Abraham lied twice (Genesis 12:10‐20).
- Noah became drunk (Genesis 9:20–21).
- Moses disobeyed God (Numbers 20: 7–12).
- David committed adultery with Uriahʹs wife ( 2 Samuel 11).
- Peter denied the Lord and swore a false oath (Matthew 27:69‐75).
The next Bible verses will give us further information on why and how imperfect humans are. Look at them, and make wise decisions.
